sustainability

Lithium Usage:  90% less lithium than a 500+-mile range EV or truck; 70% less lithium than a 250+-mile range electric car

    Cobalt Usage:  none.

Road Wear and Tear:  ~10,000x less than an electric hummer; about 24x less than the average 4,000-lb car

Battery Replacement Cost:  In the unlikely event a battery replacement is needed, our smaller battery pack can be replaced far more affordably than competing EVs. Current cost is around $3,500 USD, with projected cost in 8-10 years of less than $2,000 USD. Faulty Individual cells or modules can be replaced for far less thanks to our modular battery design.

Fuel Efficiency:  Travel 25 miles on just 75¢ of electricity. (based on average US electricity prices, charging at home)

Carbon Usage:  75% less carbon than the average gas car, using common grid electricity. 100% less when using home solar power.

why the narrow, tandem-seat design?

Aerodynamics:  Most of the energy needed to move a vehicle at highway speeds is used to overcome wind resistance. The Point5 has 30% less area facing forward against the wind.

Efficiency:  Most commuting and errands are done with one person in the car. By making a car that fits one person and their cargo, or the occasional passenger when needed, weight and balance is optimized.

Road Congestion:  A 1 or 2 passenger car like ours can travel in the HOV lanes even with just a single occupant. And broad adoption of such smaller vehicles would greatly cut down on road congestion and road wear.

The Point5's narrow form cuts through the wind and can drive and park in tighter spaces.
